Recipe for Gak

I would like to thank the parents that volunteered their time and helped make this trip complete success.  I also thank the parents that sat this trip out I promise I will call on you if we go on another field trip.

Our trip to the Museum was "awesome" .  The children enjoyed the demonstration on Solids Liquids and Gases.  Unfortunately we did not have much time to explore Science Centre.  The Planetarium was " so cool"!!

Warning this recipe is designed for class, as you can see by the amount of solution made and the amount of the solution that was used.

Ingredients:
plastic cup
Popsicle sticks
Elmer's Glue (it must be Elmer's other glues will not work)
Borax  (laundry detergent)
food colouring
warm and room temperature water
2 containers for the solutions
Ziplock bag for storage
newspaper or plastic tablecloth for the mess

Solution A
2 cups Elmer's glue
2 cups of water.

Solution B
2 tablespoons of Borax
2 cups warm water

In a plastic cup, mix 2 tablespoons of of Solution A (glue) with a few drops of food colouring for effect add 2 teaspoons of the Solution B (Borax) Stir with a Popsicle or stir stick.  The result should be a coloured goo that can be taken out of the cup and stretched and squeezed.

Gak keeps best in a closed baggie in the fridge.
